Slowly but surely my dreams of building a truly effective organization for the purposes of helping individuals and families who are suffering from the problems associated with alcohol and drug abuse are coming true. For this I am most grateful to God, as well as, to the many caring persons who have thus far contributed to my non-profit Prevention Awareness Foundation.

Through the generous donations of contributors, I have been able to build a network of services including support groups for youth and women, DUI school, and a television show, Visions of Inspiration, that I am in the process of converting into a webcast. All of these activities are described in more detail on my website visionsofdreams.org.

I have great passion for my calling to help those who are experiencing the hardships and heartaches of alcoholism/drug addiction. I was raised in an alcoholic family and my husband died of alcoholism/drug addiction at age 48. Recently, it has become clear that, in order to accomplish my goals, I must enhance my personnel capabilities through additional formal schooling. To this end, I have enrolled in classes to obtain my counseling certification (CAARR — for drugs and alcohol), however, I find myself without the resources pay for this course work which is so vital to my personal growth, and to the furtherance of the Prevention Awareness mission. I anticipate the cost for obtaining the certification to be about $1,800.
